How does the 5:2 Diet Plan work?

The 5:2 Diet Plan is based on a principle called Intermittent Fasting (IF). This sounds complicated, but it's actually very simple. You eat your normal food (up to the usual 2000 calories per day) five days a week, but you "fast" for two non-consecutive days, say every Tuesday and Thursday.

"Fasting" doesn't mean you don't eat at all. Instead, you restrict your diet to just 600 calories. The big bonus with the 5:2 is that you can eat normally for five days a week, unlike most other diets, so long as you don't exceed 2000 calories per day.

How difficult is the 5:2 diet?

They're packed full of protein and fibre which keep you feeling full, so you'll be less likely to scoff biscuits or crisps if you get peckish. How do your 5:2 Diet Plans differ?

Our 5:2 Diet Plan includes only the meal replacement products you eat on your two non-consecutive fasting days each week. You'll need to prepare your own food (totalling less than 2000 calories) on the other five.

Our Complete 5:2 Diet Plan provides all of your meals: meal replacements for your fasting days, plus a 1200-calorie per day meal plan for the other five. Since you'll be consuming fewer calories, you should lose more weight than a standard 5:2.

How quickly will I lose weight on the 5:2 diet?

It varies from person to person, but around 3.5 pounds a week is typical. You'll often lose a bit more to start with. Most people stay on the 5:2 Diet Plan for at least a month. It's also suitable for long-term weight maintenance too.

What's special about your diet foods?

Some of the other diet shakes on the market contain lots of added sugar. We don't think this is a good idea in a diet food, and in some cases, our foods contain up to 95% less sugar than competitor products. We also use much better quality protein sources than our rivals.
