Top Five Tips for Sticking with a VLCD:
Drink plenty of water; it is very important to stay hydrated at all times and also helps with the weight loss.
Always remember why you’re doing it and what you set out to achieve; this will help keep you motivated.
Think about you at your goal weight.
Empty your wardrobes of clothes that don’t fit you anymore every few weeks and for every milestone weight loss, i.e. a stone – treat yourself NOT with food but a new top.

Make it manageable! If you are feeling exhausted by your diet, you’re doing too much. Build up any exercise plans gradually and listen to your body!
Keep healthy ‘allowed’ treats in the house. When I was on the low carb diet I kept peanuts and low sugar snack bars in the cupboards. I found that because I knew they were there I didn’t crave them!
Keep reminding yourself of why you are doing it – progress pictures essential no matter how cringe worthy!
Set yourself manageable targets.
Make some set dates in the diary to have days off plan (birthdays, holidays) and don’t stray from them! . Be sure to jump straight back on plan afterwards though! I had a week off in July to go on holiday with my fiancé even though I really wanted to carry on with my diet plan. I found that it gave my brain a diet break and actually boosted my metabolism again. I put on a couple of pounds but saw a much quicker weight loss when I started dieting again.Age:
